Obituary of Glenn Edward Gartin

Glenn Edward Gartin 70 of Fort Gay, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday Feb. 14, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Glenn was born July 27, 1944 at Ranger, WV the son of the late Charles Franklin and Maudie McNely Gartin. He was a coal miner and sawmill worker and member of the Saltpetre Christian Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his Granddaughter Kasi Matney. Also five brothers; Alfred Gartin, James Gartin, Chester Gartin, Allen Gartin and Darrell Gartin. Three sisters; Rosa Lee Mounts, Delma Faye Sparks and Alta Mae Fitzpatrick. Survivors include four daughters Eva Prince (Jerry) of Crum, WV, Diane Snodgrass (Clifford Sartin) of Pikeville, KY Glenna Marie Rogers also of Pikeville, KY and Karen Sue James (Tommy) of Louisa, KY. Two brothers Duard (Judy) Gartin, Danny Ray (Barbra) Gartin and one sister Bonnie (Gary) Boggs. Glenn also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday Feb. 17th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Glenn's nephew T.J. Chaffin singing and Brother Bill Davis and Bro. Elmo Canterbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens at Louisa, KY. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday at the Wilson Funeral Home.
