Roger William VanHoose Sr, 59 of Louisa, KY, went home to be with our Lord Nov.4, 2016. Born June 21, 1957 in Ashland, KY to George and Roberta VanHoose. His grandparents were Roy and Elizabeth VanHoose and Farris and Nova Hayes. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a former coal miner, a retired water well driller, a farmer, a saw mill owner and operator, but he considered his greatest accomplishment was being the proud father of 5 children and grandfather to 10 grandchildren. He was a member of the Meade's Branch Freewill Baptist Church since Dec. 28, 1980. Survivors include his five children, Roger William VanHoose Jr (wife Samatha) of Georgetown, KY, Joseph Douglas VanHoose (wife Heather) of St Augustine, FL, George Roy VanHoose (partner Colleen) of Midway, KY, Christopher Lee VanHoose (wife Jessica) of Louisa, KY, and Jessica Renee' VanHoose (boyfriend Ryan) of Louisa, KY, His ten grandchildren , Tanner, Samuel, Brooke, Hannah, Matthew, Tristan, Teagan, Annaleigh, Camron and Andrew. His dad George VanHoose and wife Pat of Louisa, KY, His sister Debra Carter (husband Dock) of Louisa, KY, and brother Douglas VanHoose of Louisa, KY. As well as his favorite two nephews James Anthony Carter II and George Elbert Carter, family and friends. As well as an execeptional nurse and friend through the end, Amber. Funeral services will be held on Monday Nov. 7th at 1:00 pm at the Meades Branch FWB Church with Rev. Joe Castle, Rev. Jimmy VanHoose, and Rev. Jimmy Bevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens at Louisa, KY. Friends may visit the family on Sunday Nov. 6th from noon to 9:00 pm at the Meades Branch FWB Church. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
