Amanda Sue McDowell Slone 70 of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 17, 2017 following a brief illness. Mrs. Slone was born Nov. 17, 1946 at Fallsburg, KY the daughter of the late John and Marie Albright McDowell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Slone who died in 2011; five brothers Bill, Paul, Phil, Donald, and Ralph McDowell and three sisters Edith Ellen McDowell, Dorothy Moore, and Ida (Doll) Givens. Survivors include three sons James "Rick" Slone and wife Vicky and Kenneth "Greg" Slone and wife Lisa all of Louisa, and David Allen Slone of Russell, KY; a daughter Sharon Suzette Newsome and wife George also of Louisa; and two brothers Roy McDowell and John "Bo" McDowell of Ashland, KY; grandchildren Josh (Ashley) Slone, Breanna Lowe, Amy Gasparro, Amanda Dent (Cody) Holland, Timmy (Heather) Bailey, Kelley (Ray) Fletcher, David "Bubby" Slone, Devin Reid Slone, and Kyle Stacy Slone; great grandchildren Haley Fletcher, Nickie Fletcher, Adam Brantley Holland, Adelyn Gasparro, Johnny Spratt, and Summer Spratt; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 21st at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Gene Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinehill Cemetery Louisa, KY. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
