Obituary of Jimmy "Catfish" McKenzie

Jimmy "Catfish" McKenzie 66 of Louisa, KY passed away Sunday in the Cabell Huntington Hospital following a brief illness. Jimmy was born Feb. 27, 1951 at Louisa, the son of the late Charles Ed and Opal Jane Fugett McKenzie. In addition to his parents Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo McKenzie. He was a retired mechanic with Wayne Supply, a member of the Apperson F&AM, and served in the United States Army during Viet Nam. Survivors include his fiancé Jodie Preston also of Louisa; two daughters Melissa McFaddin and Jamie (Daniel) Marcum all of Louisa; four step children Jessica (Tim) Toews, Shawn (Michelle) Murphy, Megan Cyrus, and Adam (Beth Burton) Preston; three sisters Lorraine Kiser of Whitesburg, KY, Faye Hardin and Wanda Morrow both of Louisa; a brother Jerry McKenzie also of Louisa; five grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday Sept. 14th at 1:00 pm at the McKenzie Cemetery McClure Branch Road Louisa with Rev. Bobby Workman and Rev. Chris Wilson officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the McKenzie Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
