Obituary of Donald Ray Bowen

Donald Ray Bowen 76 of Fort Knox, KY formerly of Louisa passed away Monday at the Hardin Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Donald was born May 29, 1941 at Job, KY the son of the late Earshel and Martha Mills Bowen. In addition to his parents Donald is preceded in death by a sister Veva Pack. He was a retired Comand Sargent Major in the United State Army serving 20 years with two tours of duty in Viet Nam. After his retirement from the military he also retired from the Martin County Coal Company. Survivors include his loving wife Wanda Branham Bowen; three daughters Cheryle (Tommy) Yankey of Lawrenceburg, KY, Lisa (Jack) Moore of Somerset, KY, and Shanna (Virgil) Conn of Ashland, KY; six grandchildren Austin Yankey, Tanner Yankey, Emily Moore, Caitlin Harvey, Olivia Richmond, and Bennet Conn; three sisters Janet Gant, Loretha Muncy, and Emma Endicott; and two brothers Bonnel Bowen and Larry James. Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be conducted on Friday Oct. 20th at 11:00 am at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East at Grayson, KY. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
