Obituary of Ruth Ann Smith

Ruth Ann Smith 79 of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 29, 2018.

Mrs. Smith was born June 19, 1939 at Smokey Valley in Lawrence Co. the daughter of the late Martin and Tressie McBrayer Hay Sr. She is preceded in death by her husband Dale C. Smith, and a granddaughter Korey Easton as well as brothers George Hay, Ed Hay, and Dexter Hay, and her sister Alice Hay Wellman.

Ruth was a member of the Louisa United Methodist Church, Lawrence County Homemakers, served on the Lawrence County Soil Conservation Board, and volunteered in the kitchen for the Upward Basketball games. She loved to read and paint and enjoyed watching cooking shows on tv. She was proud of the years she spent teaching adult education in the Ashland School Corporation from which she retired.

Survivors include two daughters Tracey Easton and husband Kevin and Donna Zinn Croft and husband Rickey; a son Doug Smith and wife Therese; three sisters Kate Kiriacopoulos, Clare Frazier, and Fran Lewis; two brothers Martin Hay and Lee Hay; six grandchildren Aaron Zinn, Brian Zinn, Emily Zinn-Hoballah, Alexander Easton, Bekkah Schmidt, and Rachel Eldridge; eight great grandchildren Tabitha Zinn, Luther Zinn, Gideon Zinn, Evan Schmidt, Leah Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt, Flynn Eldridge, and Aiden Eldridge.

Mrs. Smith was active in her life and her community. She was generous, adventurous, determined, and kind. She was loved by many and will be missed by all her friends and her family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Sept. 3^rd at 1:00 pm at the Louisa United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Louisa United Methodist Church.
