Obituary of Fred V. Hayes

Fred V. Hayes 96 of Louisa, KY passed away Saturday September 1, 2018 following a brief illness.

Fred was born Dec. 17, 1921 at Charley, KY. He was the son of the late Roscoe and Goldie Swann Hayes. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Janie Scarberry Hayes who died in 1993 and two brother Otto and Ray Hayes.

Fred was a retired truck driver for Ashland Oil Inc., he was member of the Chandlersville F&AM 858; and proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter Judy Kitchen and husband John of Stoutsville, Ohio; three grandchildren Christopher Kitchen and wife Lisa, Shasta Lester and husband Scotty, and Shawn Kitchen and wife Salina; six great grandchildren Taylor Kitchen, Jared Kitchen, Lauren Kitchen, Lydia Kitchen, Addison Lester and Braxton Lester; two nephews Lowell Gene Hayes and Larry Hayes; and a niece Carol Hayes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 8^th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Gene Hayes and Pastor Chris Wilson officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in the Hinkle & Scarberry Cemetery Charley, KY. Friends may visit the family on Friday Sept. 7^th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
