Obituary of Paul Gene Price
Paul Gene Price, 88, of Ulysses, KY passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019. Born at Ulysses, KY, July 9, 1930, he was the youngest of 13 children born to the late Ine and Hattie Mae Davis Price. Mr. Price was also preceded in death by six brothers: Robert, Harry, Rell, Herman, Jack, and Ray; six sisters: Roberta, Joann, Ella, Margaret, Opal, and Frances; and his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Emily Hale Price.
Mr. Price is survived by four children: Donna Jean (William) Ross of Beavercreek, OH, Paul Edward Price, Sherry Ellen Price-Clevenger, and Geoffrey Thomas Price, all of Ulysses, KY. Paul H. (Kristina) Ross, Christina E. (Nate) Reed, Anthony P. (Kalena) Price, and Torri D. (Andrew) Helton. Also, seven great-grandchildren: Devin W. Ross, Able D. and Zachary Ross, Nathan and Bentley Reed, Colton P. Price, and Caroline R. Helton. As well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Mr. Price began his education in a one room schoolhouse and graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1948. Mr. Price served his country in the U.S. Army, he was a Korean War veteran. He retired as a Union Steward from General Motors in Dayton, OH. He later worked for the KY Forestry Department. Mr. Price was a 32nd. Degree Mason; Lodge#100, New Carlisle, OH. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Mr. Price attended the Lowmansville First Church of God, where he served on the board of directors for several years.
Mr. Price was a social and generous man who did not know a stranger. He loved to talk and tell stories. He also enjoyed playing poker and pool and drinking beer. He possessed a great sense of humor and style.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Kestner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, May 14 after 5:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home. All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
