As your daughter, you meant the absolute world to me. I wasn't expecting something so tragic to happen so soon. Out of the 14 years i've lived, you passing is the hardest thing i've gone through. You helped me so much and loved me endlessly. Our great memories will never be forgotten. You may not be there with me when I graduate, get married, etc. But you will always be watching me, and I hope I can make you proud. I hope you're happy in heaven, I know you're doing better. We all miss you, severely. You were always my shoulder to lean on. I wish I could see you smile one more time, hear your laugh, and feel the warmth of your hugs. I hope you're happy now, I hope you got to see those you love up there as well. I'll see you again one day, Save me a spot next to you. Fly high. I miss you. I love you, and will forever.
~ Sincerely, Livvy.

I will forever remember our days playing softball. We thought we were unstoppable. I remember out talks about our moms and their passing. I'm so happy you get to see your mom again, but I'm so broken-hearted for your daughters. I pray that they always remember you for the wonderful person that you were. Rest in peace my dear friend.

As a step aunt of over 40 years I’ve watched you grow into a beautiful soul just like your Mother. I’ve seen your joys, glorious moments, and sorrow. You illuminated the room with your presence. You’ve instilled your wonderful qualities into your girls and the many who surrounded you. The Bible says morn at birth and rejoice in death. Blessed are those who morn for they will see heaven. I know I’ll see you there, as we rejoice in the knowledge of your place in heaven. We also mourn our loss of your presence. You leave a hole in many hearts. Thanks for being family and friend.

I'll not forget Melinda's wonderful smile when I visited her hospital room. I was so hopeful she would get better, but a gracious God had other plans we won't understand until later on, but in the meantime, may His peace fill each grieving heart.

Melinda Mink came to Lindsey Wilson College when I was the Director of Choral Activities. She was a proud member of The Lindsey Wilson Singers. She also studied voice with me in weekly private lessons. To say she was a delight is an understatement. Melinda contributed not only a naturally beautiful singing voice, but her spirit was like sunshine. She loved life as much as her friends. She invested much in her relationships with friends, faculty and staff. Choir practice without Melinda was dull. Her infectious laugh and self-effacing humor made everyone feel comfortable and loved. She loved to make music and could have been a music major. We depended on Melinda to tickle our funny bone and feed our souls. As her conductor, I depended on her shining face during public performances. She always smiled back at me as she and the choir sang - affirming the music-making process with extraordinary sincerity and love. Of course, her life was too short, but long enough to spread her magnificent joy to thousands of people who had the privilege to share her effervescent space. We love you Melinda and will do everything we can to comfort your family with the love and joy you gave to each of us. -Richard and Marla Sowers
