I was privileged to be the niece of Uncle Woodrow, favorite memory by far was when he took my sister (Joy) and I on a canoe ride after a good rain. More than once his oar splashed water in my mouth - on accident of course. Farewell Uncle - you were a keeper!

Mary, "Little" Shane, and "Little" Elias, I was so saddened to hear today of Mr. Perry's passing. I think fondly and often of my early career days at CES and it's influences with respected men like yours. I am retiring from Wayne Co. in June after 36 years, and could not have done it without others like your wonderful family! I still enjoy my ceramic Christmas cookie jar made and filled all those years ago with the most wonderful never to be replaced chocolate cookies Mary was famous for. I found recently and prize the picture of the 3 of us when the boys excitedly gave it to me! I love you all and send deepest sympathy. God Bless.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Perry, his smile always made class better. He would just stand as his pic shows with his hand on his face until everyone would shut their mouth and be ready for class. He didn't try to get over our voices. He was always kind to us until we did not show an interest in class then we had a nice quiet talk. Will miss U but Heaven is blessed with your presence. Sorry, I can't attend will b praying for all of U. Love and prayers. Barbara(Romans)Conley.

Well, Uncle Wood, what a wonderful journey your life has been. I feel so blessed to have been part of it; Chuck and I loved you dearly and will miss your terribly. You taught me much about my roots and genealogy, taught us so much about geology and history and, oh, the stories you shared! Mary, my sweetest auntie, know that you are surrounded by love and angels in this time of sorrow. Uncle Wood? One last favor? Please hug my Daddy and Mama for me.

Sometimes, in life, we are so fortunate to meet special people who share with you the wonders life have to offer. Woodrow Perry was one of those special people. He not only inspired you to find the best life has to offer, but shared his love, his respect, and a good chunk of his life with you. He opened us up to wonderful possibilities and welcomed us into his world that was filled with love and laughter. From the moment I met this wonderful man, I felt that I was a part of his family...and what a wonderful family those "Perry boys" made us a part of! I have always been grateful for the privilege of sharing part of his life...even the introduction of Charlie Pride's "Kiss an Angel Good Morning" when he shared his Angel, Mary, his love for music and his love for life...what came before & what will come after. My life continues to be better since our paths crossed. My heart smiles with each memory we shared. Love & Prayers, from your little "Peanut", Diana Hensley Canterbury.
