Obituary of Sharon Kay Ferguson

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sharon Kay Ferguson, 75, of Blaine, Kentucky went home to be with her Lord on April 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was a dedicated Christian and lived her life in total commitment to serving the the Lord. She was raised in the small town in Blaine, Kentucky, the daughter of a postal worker and a farmer. Sharon came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at the early age of 11 years old. As a young teen she was an active member of the Cherokee FWB youth group under the leadership of Pastor Ralph Butler. As a young woman, she served in many church positions including: youth leader, Sunday School teacher, VBS director and Women’s Axillary President where she created the “Purple Class” which produced countless ladies retreats. Sharon attended Bible college in Nashville, TN where Sharon achieved her degree in Bible and Missions. After meeting her (now) husband, Ledgel, in a revival meeting in that same church, they were then called to the mission field overseas serving as missionaries to the Ivory Coast (12yrs) and France (4yrs).  The couple then retired from overseas missions and returned to the States where they continued their service to the Lord as Pastor and Pastor’s wife in churches in Macon Georgia and Elizabethtown Kentucky. They finalized their retirement back in Blaine in the family home place and have served as vital members in their community as volunteers at Camp Caleb and their home church of Cherokee FWB, always putting the Lord first and setting an example for all to follow.

Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years Ledgel Ferguson; a brother Mike Roberts and wife Eileen; two nieces Shawna Young and husband Eddie; and Stephanie Gifford and husband Donald; and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews and a large host of close friends.
