I'm just now learning of Earl's passing almost a month later. I met Earl in the mid 90's at a restaurant in Paintsville, KY. He gave me one of his group's CD's. I later booked them a couple of times for my annual gospel sing in Salyersville, KY. In 2000 I moved back to Morehead and lost contact w/ the Hayes Family. Earl was a blessing to me and to many. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I love this family. When my mother died I called and ask if they would sing. I also gave them the songs I wanted. One of the songs they told me that they could not sing. They had heard it but they have never sang it. Imagine my surprise , on the day of the funeral, they show up and they sing that song. They had gone and bought the c.d and learned that song and afterward apologized cos they said they didn't do it as well as the original artist. They don't know what an impression they made on me that day and I thought it was beautiful. And I so thank them for the extra effort they put forth for me. That is the type of man and family that this is. I hope the family goes on singing and keeps carrying the torch that Earl has handed over to them Love you all

What a wonderful man and a wonderful family. It's easy to see why all of your children turned out so well.it doesn't happen by accident...you always led by example. Bless your heart Deloris, I know what you've been through with the passing of Norman, and my heart breaks for you today, but I know you have the faith to finish the journey that you set out for, like Earl, many years ago to reach that heavenly home. From our family to yours, we love you all.
