Obituary of Earl Dean Hayes

Please share a memory of Earl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
July 30, 2013. Earl Dean Hayes went to be with the Lord, early in the afternoon at his home while working on The Singing Hayes Family bus. Earl’s great passions were the Church, his family and gospel music. Earl was retired from Kentucky Finance, The Associates and Dream Homes, as well as having served in the United States Army. He was a 58-year member of Belles Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 44 years, Sunday school teacher for 40+ years and dedicated supporter of the work of the Lord. Earl loved to sing Gospel music and traveled extensively over the Eastern United States with the family’s Gospel music group, The Singing Hayes Family seeing many souls saved and placing several songs on The Singing News Top 80 chart. The son of the late Farris and Nova (Stambaugh) Hayes, Earl was preceded in death by two sons: Earl Hayes II and Norman Wray Hayes, two brothers, James Arthur Hayes and Fred Hayes and two sisters, Edath Conley and Roberta Vanhoose. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Deloris Vanhoose Hayes, one brother: Bert Hayes of Louisa, one sister: Ruby VanHoose of River, two daughters: Deana Jean Hammond (and Bill Hammond) of Louisa, Kemra Vanhoose (and James Vanhoose) of Lowmansville, a son: Paul Hayes (and Angela Hayes) of Louisa and a daughter-in-law: Tonya Hayes of Louisa. In addition, he is survived by several grandchildren: Brad Vanhoose (and Sherry Vanhoose) of Inez, Cayla Lemaster (and Allen Lemaster) of Ulysses, Allison Hammond of Louisa, Matthew Hammond of Louisa, Ben Hayes of Louisa and Andrew Hayes of Louisa. Many times while traveling and singing, pastors would comment on the size of the family and Earl would respond, “I’m going to take as many to Heaven with me as I can.” His work behind him, he waits for us in the arms of Jesus and wants to see as many of you as would join him there. A Home Going Service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Belles Chapel Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. James Vanhoose and Rev. Willie Gene Hayes. Burial will follow in the Hayes Family Cemetery Route 1760 Louisa, KY.
