Obituary of Carl Lester Parsley

Carl Lester Parsley 88 of Genoa, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born Jan. 27, 1930 at Crum, WV, the son of the late George Washington and Martha Meade Parsley. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Lilly Crum Parsley and children Shirley Baisden and Terry Parsley. Carl loved his family, the outdoors and gardening. He served in the United State Air Force and was a member of the Crum Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Inis Farrington Parsley; four daughters Lora Campbell and husband Lenny, Phyllis Thompson and husband Greg, Rhonda Preston, and Jennifer Crum; a son Larry Parsley and wife Doris; a daughter-in-law Jeanette Parsley; step son Terry Pugh; and step daughter Martha Greer and husband David; a sister Pauline Webb and husband Noah; and a brother Ralph Parsley and wife Audrey; 17 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, and 8  Step Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 22nd at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Lenwood Campbell officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Parsley Family Cemetery at Stone Coal, WV. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.
