My condolences to the Holbrook family at this time of loss. Losing someone in death is one of the most devastating things we can experience. I have always found comfort from God's promises found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:4. In these verses God promises to bring about a resurrection of our precious loved ones and to remove all causes of suffering, pain, sickness, and even death. May these promises comfort you as well.
